Thank you for visiting our website. We hope the information available here will be useful to existing families, and to those who are looking to bring their children to Rendlesham Primary School and Nursery.

Just over two weeks to go until number day Friday 6th February. You can donate here: http://charity.giftt.tech/rendleshamcommunityprimaryschool Dress as a Rockstar or with any clothing with numbers on it.

U11s Sportshall Athletics: On Thursday 15th January a team of 23 year 6 children travelled to Suffolk One to take part in an indoor athletics event. The team competed against another 26 schools who took part across two sessions. We are awaiting the final results but regardless of these, are incredibly proud of the determination and resilience the team showed. Their constant roaring support and encouragement for each other was a joy to watch (and hear)! Both these recent events have been made all the more smarter with massive thanks to Clarke and Simpson Auctions, who very generously have sponsored our new multisport kit. The children have worn this kit purposefully during these events and have represented Rendlesham Primary School with pride. We cannot wait to put the kit to more use as the year goes on.

We have had some lovely examples of collaboration, determination, responsibility and participation uploaded over the last week on Learning Pi. Here are some of our favourites.

Year 3/4 Dodgeball: Throughout the second half of the Autumn term last year, a group of year 3 and 4 children participated in a dodgeball afterschool club. A team of 9 were then chosen to take part in the Suffolk School Games U9s dodgeball tournament at Ipswich School Sports Centre. Not only did the team show great throwing, catching and dodging skills, they also showed a great competitive spirit in every game. Overall, the team performed extremely well, managing to win 3 out of the 6 matches they played!

Our Year 5 and 6 pupils thoroughly enjoyed their experience as Victorian pupils in school today. They experienced life in a Victorian school and life in the workhouse doing hard labour.

NSPCC Number Day! On Friday 6th February, we are having a TTRockstars/Maths day to help raise awareness for NSPCC Number Day! We are having a fun day of maths activities, and ask pupils to "Dress up for Digits" or "Dress as a Rockstar." Pupils are asked to wear an item of clothing with a number on it (a sports top for example). Or get even more creative and become a human calculator, dice or domino by dressing in a maths or numbers theme. Children can also dress as a Rockstar or even their TImes Table Rockstars avatar! We will share our link for fundraising prior to the event.

Year 3 and 4 had a brilliant day with Christopher from Making the Classroom Disappear, learning all about The Great Fire of London. We took part in roleplay, played games, handled artefacts and used our reading comprehension to be curious and learn so much about this important event.

TT Rockstars is a great free tool to help pupils improve their recall of times tables. Below is a child at the school who has averaged 4 minutes a day since the beginning of September and has made massive progress - their heatmap is now fully green. https://play.ttrockstars.com/

Key Stage 1 had great fun being curious and creative in the snow this week!
