A special mention to Jesse and Joshua who both answered over 16,000 correct questions for their respective classes, an amazing achievement well done! Normans vs Vikings starts today with the winner being crowned next Thursday. The winning class will be rewarded with an afternoon of Golden Time.

Here are some of our favourite Snap and Shares from Learning Pi over the past week. A great mix of children participating, showing determination and resilience and risk-taking.

Last week, Year 3 and 4 visited Jimmy's Farm and Wildlife Park. We were so lucky with the weather and managed to see all the animals, including the polar bears and lions and tiger. There was lots of fantastic discussion about how these animals have adapted to live in our climate. The children were so well-behaved and all enjoyed a wonderful trip.

Exciting News for Rendlesham School Choir! We are thrilled to announce that Rendlesham School Choir has been successful in applying for and will be taking part in Celebration 2026 at Snape Maltings! Our performance will take place on Monday 13th July, and we would absolutely love for our families, friends and community to come along and support us. Celebration brings together over 1,200 young performers from schools across Suffolk for one very special week each year. Each evening is filled with joyful music, as pupils perform in the wonderful Snape Maltings Concert Hall, creating an unforgettable experience for performers and audiences alike. After weeks of rehearsing in school and at home, our choir can't wait to take to the stage and be part of this fantastic event. Tickets are now available: https://www.brittenpearsarts.org/events/celebration-2026 An unforgettable evening of music for all the family we hope to see you there!

We have a great selection of curious, creative, determined children participating this week, thank you for your Snap and Shares on Learning Pi.

Thank you so much for all of the amazing entries to our Simple Machines Physics competition. It was a very difficult decision as there were so many varied designs and amazing mechanisms. In the end, the Science Ambassadors and Mrs Woodruffe chose Frazer and Freya's as the winners for Key Stage One and Two and Freya's as the overall winner. Freya took her entry to the Grand Final at Southwold Primary School last week. Unfortunately, she didn't win the grand prize but it was great to see the children from the other trust schools and their entries.

Thank you everyone for your kind donations to our Number Day, that was back in February. The total amount raised for the NSPCC was £225.70.

Our very busy and successful spring term ended with an amazing morning at The Royal Hospital School taking part in the IPSSA Cross Country event. Our year 4 runners took part in a 1500m race and for our year 5/6 runners, it was 2200m. This event is an amazing opportunity for the children to test their resilience, try something new and prove to themselves what they are capable of. It is made all the lot better getting to see all of the 46 children who attended; support, cheer and celebrate their own as well as each other's achievements. While we had several children beat their personal best from last year, we also had our fair share finish around the top 20 out of 150+children in each race. The achievements don't stop there. Our year 4 girls really set the tone when Primrose (1st), Aggie(3rd) and Violet(5th) blew us all away as they came storming down the final straight towards the finish line. Having had the results back this week we have now learnt that their team (Primrose, Aggie, Violet and Gracie) came in 1st place out of 36 teams in the year 4 girl's race! This is the first time at Rendlesham Primary School we have had a team win their event at cross country. The whole school is so proud, well done girls - your trophy will be on its way soon! We also had some more superb individual results from three children who have had an incredible cross country journey at Rendlesham Primary School. In their final cross country event of year 6: Joshua finished in 6th place out of 180 running in one of the toughest races of the day. Layla-Rose came emerging from the fields in the distance and kept up her incredible pace to earn herself 2nd place and a silver medal. Elodie then followed shortly after and put on a finishing masterclass to secure herself 10th place in the same race which again, had 180 runners in. Our superstar year 6 runners, supported by the rest of their team, also had some brilliant team results. Josh, Daniel, Robin and Oliver combined to come in 4th place out of 46 teams and Layla-Rose, Elodie, Ellie and Lalia also combined to finish in 3rd place out of 42 teams. This was by far our most successful event from a team results perspective, and we are very proud of everyone who took part. Cross country runners, you are AMAZING!
