RendleshamPrimary School

Wishing everyone a lovely half term, we will see you back in school on Monday 2nd November.

Today we crowned our Pride of Rendlesham Primary School winners. We had hundreds of nominations; it was a big challenge to shortlist our finalists and pick our winners. Well done to all ten of our winners, who were each presented with a medal and a prize.

A quick reminder that tomorrow we will be having a whole-school dress-down day in support of the memorial for Kaylem Scopes, which you can donate to here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/kaylem-scopes and East Anglia's Children's Hospice, which you can donate to here: https://donate.each.org.uk/donate/index.aspx

Year 3/4 Hockey Festival: Some of our year 3/4 children had a great afternoon last Friday as they travelled to Ipswich Hockey Club to put their hockey skills to the test. While there, they took part in a selection of different activities and games organised for them by the 'School Games' team. Year 5/6 Boys Football: A team of year 5/6 boys travelled to Inspire Suffolk this week where they took on other teams from across Ipswich in a 7-a-side football tournament. The boys played extremely well showing great teamwork and determination throughout all four of their games. After ending the day unbeaten with 4 clean sheets, 2 wins and 2 draws, the boys narrowly missed out on a place in semi-finals after finishing joint on points at the top of their group. Well done boys - you should be very proud!

EYFS celebrated Harvest this week with our Harvest Festival Assembly. Thank you to everyone for the donations that will be passed onto the Rendlesham Top-up shop.

Thank you to Mrs Buckles and the school council for organising, and to all the parents for their donations and for making the event a success again.

Nominations are now open for our pupils to nominate their peers. We will present awards during our 20th Birthday Celebration Week, 19th-23rd October.

📢 Exciting News for Our School Choir! 🎶 We are delighted to share that our school choir has been invited to take part in Friday Afternoons LIVE at Snape Maltings on Friday 13th November 2026! 🎉 This fantastic event will bring together hundreds of KS2 children from schools across Suffolk and Norfolk for a very special mass choir experience. Throughout the morning, the children will sing a range of songs alongside other young singers, led by professional choir leaders in the beautiful Concert Hall at Snape Maltings. Over the coming weeks, choir members will be learning the repertoire in preparation for this exciting performance. We will also have the opportunity to work with visiting choir leaders before the event to help build confidence and develop our singing skills. We are incredibly proud of our choir and can't wait for them to represent our school at such a prestigious event. Watch this space for updates as we begin rehearsals! 🎵 #SchoolChoir #FridayAfternoonsLIVE #SnapeMaltings #ProudToBeRendlesham #LoveOfMusic 🎶💙
