Transition to High School

As your child enters year 6, we will inform you of the parent information evenings for the local high schools throughout the year. We work closely with Farlingaye (who are the catchment high school) to provide a thorough transition and this can take many forms from: visitor assemblies in the summer term with key Farlingaye staff, participation in maths/PE days throughout the year at Farlingaye, Farlingaye teachers visiting to teach a range of subject lessons to the year 6 pupils and the transition day for all pupils in June/July. If you are a parent of a child with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, we will ensure that your child has time to talk to a member of Farlingaye staff in the summer term and extra visits can then be arranged to the school. We offer a bespoke package on transition where the Academy Head at Rendlesham will consult with Farlingaye key staff to provide the right support and information ready for Year 7 to ensure a happy and successful transition.
